Opinions on SC tune..

I am trying to gather the finances to supercharge my car this summer and wanted to get some input from everyone on my Idea for a safe tune.

I have an 02 Mustang GT M5
Mods (that are relevant):
3.73's
FRPP 70 mm TB
C&L plenum
Dyno Tuned Chip.

I plan on going with a vortec or procharger(for the intercooler). I am only going to attempt to get 330-340 RWHP out of the set up.
So here is my Idea: Before the dyno tune I will fill up my car with 91 octane gas, then do the dyno tune and if I get higher then 340 RWHP then I will have my tuner back off the timing a little to make it a safer tune. Once the dyno tune is over and I need gas again, I will then fill up my tank with 93 octane gas for an extra safe octane buffer.

What do you all think about my Idea?

first of all, being programmed for 330-340hp is not nessecesarily going to mean safer. second, only run the highest octane gas in your car right before and after the s/c install. don't bother with 91, go straight to the 93.

if you can't afford a supercharger now and are extremely worried about it being "safe", i highly suggest that you do not supercharge your car until you can afford forged internals.

what exactly needs to be replaced to get that stock motor strong enough for a sc?? And how much does it all cost?

cobra crank, forged pistons, forged rods, and good rings.

for a complete assembled forged shortblock, expect to pay $3000~$3400.
