Notes: I'm not sure what kind of amp I want- either a two-channel or a mono but I'm not sure what the difference is. I want to run 2 of the above subs so I don't think I'll need a multi-channel. I know I will also need the wiring stuff as well as the head unit adaptor. I am also planning on retaining my stock speakers, will this pose a problem?

You can kep the stock speakers, as long as its not the Mach system, and amplify them with a 4 ch. amp and then either use a 2 ch. or monoblock for the bass.If you run 2 4 ohm woofer in parallel, you will get a 2 ohm load,so either get a 2 ohm stereo stable amp or monoblock that is 2 ohm stable. The h/u is good,i just installed one, nice features.I wouldnt buy from Crutchfield.look around for better prices.

I forgot to ask if this head unit and everything else will work ok since I currently have the Mach stereo system. However it's not the 460 or 1000, at least it doesn't have those numbers. I ask because I remember reading some posts about people having trouble with aftermarket systems if their car cam stock with the Mach. So iskwezm, will I be ok here since I don't have the 460/1000? And will I still be able to retain my stock speakers?

Also, what's the difference between mono amp and a two-channel? What is better and what do I want?

The Mach only came in the 460 and then the Shaker 500/1000's. I hate messing with Mach stuff,i just take it out and run new wire.

A monoblock amp is a single channel amp, made for just bass,it has a built in low pass crossover and usually supplies the wattage into one channel.A 2 2 channel can play either a stereo signal or 1 channel depending on how its wired.I have both in different cars, the monoblock puts out more power, but the 2 channel can be used to power other speakers then just bass

Thanks for the clarification iskwezm, I just figured I had the standard "Mach" system because I don't see "460" labled anywhere, just "Mach."

Anyways, with all these options out there, and with my lack of knowledge when it comes to stereo stuff, I really think i just want someone more knowledgable just to tell me what it is I need so i don't have to think too hard. Hopefully in my original post I have enough info for you to know what I'm looking for.

-Want to go economical and keep my stock speakers
-Don't know if I should/need to keep my stock amps (to power my speakers)
-Don't know what kinda problems I'll run into since I am going from a Mach setup (will the HU I selected work?)
