Its been a little while since I've had time to post, but I've come across what I consider a pretty good deal.... but I'm getting some resitance from some friends so I figured I would get some un-biased third party opinions.

I've come across an 85 T-top GT roller. The body is straight as an arrow. Its needs some work to the cowl from a flying hood sometime in its life, but thats about the extent of the body work.

All of the suspension and steering is there as well as the rear-end. The interior is stripped except for the dash... the floors look great.

Its got a bad case of the uglies from sitting for so long and it needs a new passengeer window.

I can pick it up for crazy cheap.

My friends seem to think its too much to bring back but I'd hate to see the car rot anymore or get crushed.

My project budget isn't that great right now, but a little at a time is better than nothing.

What do you guys think? Should I try and save it?

I personally think so.

if you have the skill, and the cash to restore it, go ahead. Just remember to x2 what you think it will cost to fix her up... What about title, is it a real GT and not some ex 4 banger...

I think rescuing a T-Top car is the way to go. Hell, thats what I did. If the cowl is the ONLY bodywork (other than overall repainting of course) and the floors are in good shape, go for it. It'll be worth it in the end.

I've ran the VIN and the door tag... its a factory t-top, 302, 5-speed car.

This would be my 5th fox, so I'm not unfamiliar with the ends and outs.

The cowl is the only "major body" work. There are some dings and stuff to fill, but it is 21 years old. Honestly, I think one of the best things is that its never been repainted so I have minimal stripping and sanding to do.

If you can pick it up on the cheap I would go for it. Even if you have to store it away inside until you can get a little time and money it would be out of the elements and in the end a damn cool car.

Its pretty much a done deal...

It'll be about a week before I can pick it up but it'll be in good hands sooner than later.

Thanx for the input

BTW: Who here has actually replaced a cowl panel? This will be my first time attempting it. It doesn't look that hard, but looks can be decieving.
