I have two Mustangs:

1970 Mustang Mach 1
1989 Mustang GT

I love both of them, but lately I have been debating on getting rid of the '89 to focus on a rotissorie restoration of the '70. The money I've been spending on the '89 could really help with the '70. Just curious what your opinions are? How many Mustang do you own? Do you miss ones you've gotten rid of? Thanks for any help in my decision!

i agree with chepsk8, dump the fox as you can always pick up another one later on if your choose. i also agree with doing updates to your 70 for better all around performance. better brakes and handling are always good.

Thats what Im thinking. The '70 is a factory power steering and a/c car...so I plan on these being redone. Then it will be lowered 1" with disc brakes all the way around. I hate to part with the '89, but my money is being split two ways and I'm not getting anywhere on either one. Keep your thoughts coming!

Make the 89 a DD and save the 70 for special occasions...

But then again, I'm diehard so I collect. I like them all and will eventually own of just about every style cept the MII.

I drive my 91 almost every day and it gets parked for the winters. I used to have an 85 4 eye with T-tops that I sold 13 years ago and I regret it every day. Sold it to a friend of mine and he decided to go back it into a tree at about 40 mph. I will never sell another Mustang again.

I say keep em both.

Another problem is, I only have a two car garage and with my tools and working on one car its full. I keep one car at my grandmothers. Right now I have four vehicles:

1992 Ranger 4x4 (work truck)
2002 F150 4x4
1989 Mustang GT
1970 Mustang Mach 1

Thanks.

If you ever want another T-top Mustang, I have an '88 GT for sale. Very clean and very much in need of a new home.

sounds like you need to build a shop or attach a carport to your garage. If the 89 runs good just use it for a cruiser and work on the 70 when you get done with the 70 move back over to the 89 and start working again.

I think Im just going to keep everything. I have all sorts of parts for both cars and I use the F150 to haul everything. I just have to have the Ranger because work is so hard on my paint job (power plant). Thanks. So now I have:

Im going to focus on the '89 until Spring then all my time goes into the '70. Later.

Your '89 looks just like my '88, color and all. What do you do at the power plant? I have afew freinds that work at a co-gen plant and one that works at a PG&E plant. I don't know if all of the power plants are the same, but my freinds all work a rotating shift. I don't think I could do that.

Im a plant operator at a coal fire power plant. I work swing shift and love it...takes time to get used too, but I only work half the year working 12-hour days! I don't know if I could sign the title of my '89 over to someone! I learned 90% of my mechanic skills on this car.

My buddy that works at the PG&E plant is an operator as well. He started out as a machinist, but due to some goofy union politics, got bumped from the machinist job and wound up in the operator's position. I don't think it's the job he dislikes as much as the hours. He works 4, 12hr days, then gets one day off. Then he works 4, 12 hour swing shifts and gets 2 days off. Then he works 4, 12hr graveyard shifts and gets 3 days off before going to days again. I'd shoot myself if I had to do that for more than a month. I agree with you, though about swing shift. I loved it, no bosses, I could sleep in and the pressure was less.

On my shift I work:

-work 4 nights
-off 3 days
-work 3 days
-off 1 day
-work 3 nights
-off 3 days
-work 4 days
-off 7 days

Then it starts all over again. I just started my 7 days tonight! Mustang time!
