I was wondering what people felt about someone for say with a gt turning there car into a cobra clone? For instance, theres this kid in my town who has a 1999 v-6 coupe who put the 03-04 cobra front, rear, and hood on his car. No motor mods. I also, have a friend with a 2001 mustang gt with a vortech supercharger putting out 400rwhp who turned his car into a cobra r clone. Just wondering what peoples feelings are about that. I personally dont think its cool unless you have the balls to back it up

I would be ok with it but the wing and splitter are a bit much, especially for a street car. At least it is making some decent power.

he doesnt have the big wing. So your asying it would be ok to clone another model as long as your backing up the hp? GT putting out 390hp same as stock cobra?

I think its ok to put Cobra, saleen, roush, Mach etc. parts on GT's or what not, I just dont like when people put the Snake badges on a regular Mustang. I also dont like when people put the Cobra rear bumper on a GT or Mach & dont fill in the Cobra lettering. Its just not right to me. I think the only way it works to put Cobra badges on a regular mustang is if you do the entire cloning down to the t by adding the complete Cobra drivetrain & interior, exterior etc.

I understand about cloning as far as interior... but what about motor? If putting out 400hp...its still 400hp no matter what it is. Thats where i am stuck...

If you slap a snake on your Mustang, it better at least have as much HP as a Cobra.

I don't see a problem with swapping body parts or performance parts. The general public wouldn't know an 03/04 cobra nose if one rammed into them at 60MPH.

But, the general public does know the Cobra snake and name and how it usually refers to the top of the line Mustang. So if you put a snake or COBRA on your Mustang, it better be able to at least perform like a top of the line mustang since that's what most people will see.

I see tons of V6's around me with cobra emblems. Some are bone stock. I don't understand why they feel the need to buy the cobra emblems and put them on their car?

I dont think just because my Mach has a 4V motor it would be cool for me to put a Snake badge or rear bumper with COBRA embossed into it.
