ok since I've been around a long while, I've seen the articles up to 10 years ago (on the internet) on who had the fastest stock headed, fastest stock intaked, fastest stock cammed mustang. Truth is hardly anyone documented all their passes from stock to finish. And it prolly isn't correct anyway.....because the more you drive a car the faster the driver (or better I should say) can drive a given car. MORE practice = faster........anywhich way you look at it. I mean a guy can learn whats best shift points, best launch techique's etc. And beat another guy in the same car with different points of view on how to drive it wouldnt you all agree?

I'd like to build up my stock car, and document it from stock to finish. Would any of you be interested in an article like this. SHould I start a website for all the time slips, pictures and articles?
thanks
Jack

^ Absolutly 2 people in the same exact car will run different times depending on how well they can launch, how fast they can shift, when they shift, and the r/t

what do you mean by build up your stock car? Do you mean like a prostock?

no, I just meant foolin around with stock parts trying to find their limits, see what it would do when you port stock intakes, stock heads, what different sized valves did and how much it lost or gained in ET in racing on a track. What parts helped or hendered traction. All that kinda stuff. I want my car to eventually get faster, And with my budget it won't happen over night, but Documenting all this stock stuff would be kinda kewl and fun IMHO!

^ So your saying leave the engine stock except for porting and just upgrade suspension and stuff and see what differences they really make by themselves? That sounds like a pretty cool idea, definatly worth making a site for...or a thread lol

yea basically.

I mean what is the limit of a stock cam? Those cam's can make some serious hp if set up right. OF course you could make more with an aftermarket cam..........just figured it would be neat to do a bunch of testing and see what was up.

I'm sure its been done before.........but personally I haven't! And most of the guys here seem to be younger guys, who wasn't around back 10 years ago when all that stuff was being done in the magazines. So thought it would be kinda kewl to do. Heck I may be the only one who thinks so! lol

this is basically what I am trying to do. I think it is more impressive to run better times with less power.

Jackchan, I'll read it if you make the site. I'd be interested in seeing how far my stock cam and intake will take me.
