OPTIMA BATTERYS? NOT SNUGG FIT

I've had my battery for 3 years and just noticed today the battery cable neck was warped because my battery has been moving side to side while driving and I found these today that can be used to keep it snugg in the stock battery box, just wondered if I could find one that is cheaper or if this is a good product, I measure my red top optima and I have i'd say 1/2 inch from stock battery holder block....... heres what I found to replace it with

The part is only $25 but I would like to know if i could find something like it at a local store like walmart or autozone?

Yeah, I've heard those batteries fit very loosely.

I never really paid attention to it till i saw where my battery cable was warped where it been moving around than i pushed my battery to see how loose it was in the battery box and I could move it side to side so its not held down tightly so I hope that peice works, i'll order it tommorro unless you guys have a cheaper alternative than $25 lol

hey bud, i work for interstate batteries, i really don't reccommend the optima's. the correct size for your car is a 59 series, i use a 58 , its just as good and is easier to find and a little cheaper. an MT58 from interstate is what i would use.

my optima came with a piece that looks like that (except plastic) and it holds it tight

Thats understandable but theirs nothing wrong with my optima battery and I dont wanna buy a new battery just cause it fits loosely when I can fix it for $25 with that adapter peice I just wondered if anyone had used this piece so I'd have peace of mind......

I would just use a piece of scrap wood and wedge it in there before i spent $25 on that

If you can find a galvanized metal strap, the kind that has a series of holes in it and is used to support the back side of a car stereo, you can make one for free. A few years ago, when I installed an Optima in my car and noticed the stock hold-down didn't work, I cut and bent a metal strap to fit. It has worked well, with no problems since.

one of my jobs is a parts guy at autozone... im not a fan of optima batteries. the duralast gold is alot better than an optima... unless you wanna mount the battery sideways. the duralast has a 8 year warranty, im pretty sure it has more cca's than an optima, and its made by johnson controls.
i have had three failed optima batteries before i got a duralast gold. fits great and fires up every time.

I don't know where a lot of you guys are buying your Optima batteries from but that doesn't look like mine at all. And mine fits perfectly.
