i've had my tach for a while and it reads wrong, it idles at 1600 and hits 10k when i floor it, i think its set up for 4 or 6 cylinder, i unwrapped some of the tape on it and there are 2 orange and 2 brown wires cut, anyone know where these are suposed to go?? or what they connect to??

.....Mine does the same thing but, my orange and brown wires arent cut
it worked perfect for a year and then started randomly "becoming a 4 cylinder" and if i gave it a little smack on the side of the tach it would return to normal. Now it does it 99% of the time
so i have to set my shift light to like 10k
