I decided to go ahead and order this badboy. I've heard so many good things about this shifter. I also ordered quite a big of chrome accessories from them also. Just wondering if the momo shift knob will work with the handle?

If anyone is interested I'm selling my stock Saleen/Hurst short throw.

I have heard that the MGW shifter is very good. A friend of mine recently bought one. I have the pro 50 shifter in my Saleen. The Hurst short throw shifter that Saleen uses is a piece of junk. I think the stock Ford shifter is
better. Lets us know how you like the MGW.

I did mine a few months ago on my 02 S281. The MGW shifter is amazing, I love it. The MOMO stock shift knob is not threaded. It's basically just tightened on by three tiny allen screws at the base of the shift knob. The MGW shifter is threaded, but you dont actually use the threading. You are just super tightening the three allen screws on to that threaded shaft. The three allen screws are hidden by that shiny metal trim ring right at the bottom of the knob that says MOMO. Unscrew that and you will expose the allen screws. The only problem is that the shift knob is too tall for the MGW shifter with the trim ring. You cant install the trim ring back on it with the MGW. You'll see what I mean when you try do to it. So i basically tightned on the MOMO knob onto the MGW shaft and then had to cut out a piece of black leather and just wrap it around the 3 allen screws so they arent exposed and ugly looking. I wish the trim ring fit, because it does look nice and cover up those threads/screw holes, but the leather worked out fine. It just looks like its a part of the shifter boot. Let me know if you have any questions.

If you do some research, I think MOMO makes a leather boot, with the treaded allen bolt cover incorprated into it.

Please give a report on how the new shifter feels. I have been looking at options as well.

From everything I've heard, this seems to be the shifter God would choose for his Mustang. Let us know how you like it after it is installed!

My friend likes the MGW better than his previous Pro 5.0.

The boot and knob should still look “Stock” after the install.
