Hey guys...it's been a while...

I searched through the threads, and didn't come across anything...

For those of you who ordered a 2005....what were the terms? How much did the dealers want upfront? Deposit? Please Exlain!

Excuse my ignorance....this will be the first car I have ever ordered...and not just picked off the lot.

Thanks guys!!

When you order a car, some dealers request a show of "good faith" or a deposit, this should be between $500-$1000, and all it does is show that you are serious about the car. You can negotiate the price of the car at the time you order it, should be pretty close to invoice if you shop around. After the price has been settled upon, the dealer may ask for a "good faith" deposit, just to show that you are serious. This IS refundable, but make sure you have the sales manager sign the negotiated price as well as stating the deposit is refundable. You are not obligated to purchase the vehicle at any time, and even upon delivery, you can walk away for whatever reason.

hope this helps, if it's not clear let me know

Thanks!

I know when my mom ordered her CLK-430, that Mercedes took $2000 from her to show "good faith". She said that it could be that high

I know I saw arround here someone who figured what the price on a 05 Gt fully loaded...with every option....was.

Anyone have the link to that thread?
