OK, I was under 2 stangs last weekend. My buds 94 GT with AODE and my 94 GT with T5.

His D/S has what looks like a damper near the transmission before the first universal joint and mine doesn't. Anyone know why?

Also I noticed that there are no obvious weights on my d/s for balance. I do have a couple (one large and one small) rubber plugs at each end of the d/s. Is this how Ford balanced these? Or was Ford using wieghts welded to the driveshaft like other manufacturers?

Thnaks,
Chris

FYI the FMS alum driveshaft is balanced at 3200 RPM. This seems low to me. Anyone have any other thoughts?

Thanks Dan.

Anyone else not have weights on their D/S. I really wonder if my weights were knocked off at some point.

Those dampners were only on autos. Not sure of the exact reasoning, but that's why he has one and you don't.

What about balance weights? Is that what the rubber plugs are for at the ends of my D/S?

I believe so -- but I have never had one balanced to see them do it.
