What's up guys? I'm shopping for a new laptop for my girlfriend and I was wondering if any of you have bought one latley? We are currently looking at Dell and emachine laptops. We are also looking to spend under 2000 with including the printer.

Any suggestions on which laptop to get? Also has anyone had any bad experiences with laptops recently?

my special lady has a Dell Inspiron 1100, and it's great especially for the price. haven't had any problems or complaints. now if it was me i would get an apple iBook G4 or for a little more $$ a PowerBook G4.

I'm currently running the Toshiba Portege 4010. It's probably the best laptop I've owned but one of my main criteria is size. This one is pretty lightweight compared to the Dells and Sony Vaios I've used. If I recall, it was $3500 but that was a couple years ago.

I would get a good used one for around $1000. I go to some computer shows and they are all over..

For that, you should be able to get at least a 1.4 with 512ram, cdrw/dvd combo and some other goodies.

I bought a P266 for only$300 last year to tune the car.
