Just curious, I've changed my motives and I'm looking to put in a forged longblock from a 87-92 fox body, are the lowers the same, so I can just attach my 94 upper to it? thanks!
A long block from 87-93 is the same as the 94-95 and will work with all of the 94-95 specific hardware. The rotating assembly is the same unless the one you plan to use was upgraded to forged internals later.
I've heard that some of the late 80s blocks have a higher nickle content and that they were slightly stronger but have not experienced this first hand.
well the long block is different aside from the fact that the fox (87-92) used the forged TRW pistons which is attractive about it. just wanted to make sure the lower was the same so i wouldn't have to remove it...
thanks!

I think he means lower intake JJ95GTID. The 94/95 upper should bolt up to the lower on a fox. The only difference I can think of is the foxes lower is drilled and tapped for the ACT sensor. Just leave the old one in the lower to plug the hole.
Really if its just to get get forged pistons I wouldnt do it. Hypers can handle a good bit of power from n2o and boost if tuned correctly. Even a good forged piston will fail from det./ping.
lower intake is the same more or less. My 94 actually had a left over 93 fox intake (mine is an early 94 model...IIRC its build stickers were around aug. 93). There is a plug that is/was installed since the air intake sensor was moved to the intake tubeing and removed from the lower.
