Hey, I just had an idea along the lines of the Taurus SHO V6 and Escort 1.9......what about a Duratec from a Focus or even an older Zetec? I did a little snooping and the Zetec can be had up to 2.0L and the Duratec I-4s in 2.3L(among many other displacements). I actually found a picture of a Zetec in a RWD setup. I think the '05+ Rangers/B-series have a DOHC 2.3 also, which might be the easiest to use.
