Hi guys, quick question about my 88 GT. On my coolant overflow tank, I have a hose on the bottom that connects to the radiator by the cap.. and then right below the cap of the overflow tank there's a plastic piece that curves around and faces downward.. in reading my Chilton manual I can't find anything describing what this is supposed to be connected to.. does that top curvy plastic thingy do anything?

I ask because it says the radiator will draw coolant from that tank, and put excess coolant back in.. does that bottom hose serve both purposes?

yep, the bottom hose is for fluid to ingress and egress from the rad. the top molder opening should be an overflow for the overflow. if it was not there, coolant would burst out the top of the reservoir if overfilled. it should just dump onto the ground.
