overheating ?

2.3's are pretty bad about overheating anyway...might wanna check the coolant mix, run some concentrated cleaner through the cooling system, and maybe go with a thinner (more water) coolant mix and/or add some water wetter.

And yes, check the fan. It doesn't come on til a REALLY high temp anyway (something like 230-240 degrees I think), and the fan on my old '90 kicked the bucket...and I didn't find this out until I was stuck in a traffic jam. Car overheated & cracked the head, but it ran fine and I drove it like that for the next 2 or 3 years.

The fan should come on when the A/C is engaged regardless of water temp. Its an easy way to test the fan rather than waiting for it to come up to temp. If the fan doesn't come on with the A/C, you'll have to troubleshoot from the fan back to the IRCM.

Is it actually overheating, or just running warmer? Alot of times poeple freak when the needle on the stock gauge goes past the second line.

Stock gauge is sketchy.

There are a lot of good suggestions here if it is getting too hot.

Good Luck

I'm not for sure, I haven't had alot of time to get over there and find out for sure what happens I was looking for some suggestions, and this is why I love this site you guys are a wealth of knowlege. I'm mainly a reader and not a poster so you probably don't see me around much.

thanks
