P/I heads and cams where from?

I have a 97GT with just under 82,000 miles on the clock. I've been debating on how to go about doing the PI swap and where to get the parts. I'd rather start with new parts if possible. I've found that you can get new complete stock PI heads for about $330 online. I'd also like to get a set of cams to throw in place to get more umph outta it beings I'm going that far into a swap and don't want to have to do it again.

Would it be cheaper to get the new heads, buy the cams and install that way? or is there heads you can get that have like VT stage 1 or 2 cams already in them? I do prefer the sound of the VT 2 if those will work good for N/A. I'm still learning things about the motors but gaining it over time. Any help is appreciated.

I searched the forums and found my intake manifold and heads. I have spent
$455 shipped for Heads+Intake Manifold. I am going to take the heads to a machine shop and have them checked out. I hope to spend around $800 when all said and done provided the heads dont need work. Does anyone know any good machine shops in Kansas City. :SNSign: :Teh-Win:

That doesn't sound like a bad price. I'm a little leary on getting things used cause I've ran across one too many different pieces that were bad.

I was almost thinking about getting the heads and intake new from ford... buying a set of cams and installing them that way. Possibly getting them ported and polished from a machine shop in town if that's possible and not spend $2000 for heads alone.

heres a complete headswap kit, every bolt, gasket etc. http://www.parkwayperformance.com/2vheadswap.asp You could then have the heads Ported wherever you'd like and sell the PI cams out of the heads.

Also here is an install guide

and another

I bought everything seperate and it works out to be just a smidge cheaper than the kit price from parkway. I got the following parts from the following places 1 year ago because they were the cheapest at that time...

heads - steeda
head changing kit - steeda
intake - mustangtuning.com
gaskets (there are several) - seanhylandmotorsport.com and 50resto.com

I would for sure suggest going with the bigger cam now. You will LOVE the PI swap, because its a whole new car after 2500 rpm. However, if I had to do it all over again, I would have saved up the extra loot and installed an aftermarket cam and LT's while the heads were out of the car. Good luck, any q's feel free to PM me.
