Would it be necessary to check piston-to-valve clearance (the pistons are TRW forged, valve reliefs look similiar to stock if I can recall) with stock valves and .499" I -.510" E lift. Seems like a lot of guys run more lift and bigger valves than me without any issues. I don't think it's a factor, what do you guys think. Better safe than sorry?

I run 2.02 and 1.60 valves with .512 of lift ,completly stock shortblock. No flycuting was needed.

Over .100 of clearance on both intake and exhaust valves.

It can give you an idea but you should always check you clearance when you change your cam.I used the modling clay method.
