P0460 Trouble Code - Can I fix this myself?

My fuel guage started acting strange yesterday showing Empty right after I filled the tank. I thougth at first I got ripped off at the gas station. I shut down and restarted and it showed full.

Today it showed empty again, so checked the codes and came up with P0460 - Fuel Tank Level Indicator Circut Error.

Is this something I can fix myself, or do I need to take it to an electrical shop? If so, is there a shop someone can recommend in the SF bay area?

what gas station did you take it to. in the south theyve been having trouble with excessive sulfer in the gas at texaco and shell and that causes that problem.

It was Chevron. Is this something that will fix itself?

well the fuel tank level indicator is inside the fuel tank and to replace it you have to drop the tank iirc. try to wait a while and see if it fixes itself.
