I think I'm going to go with this setup, sure it's expensive, but what's a little more. I'm adding a Gear Vendor unit to my BB C6 at some point before the car is done. This kit allows your C6/GV unit to automatically at as a 6 Speed as you paddle shift, it knows how to control the trans and the overdrive. They even have a hand shifter.

That would be really cool. A friend of mine recently drove on of the paddle shifted Corvette's and really liked how it worked. He said he would probably prefer a paddle shifted Automatic over a stick shift.

the Retrotek kit looks a little cheaper

Cool thanks, but that only works for standard drive gears D1-D2-D3. The other supports P-R-D1-D2-D3 + The Automatic Overdrive Switch.
