I'm gonna use this thread for pics and progress on my fox. I have a 1990 GT hatch.

Here's some pics of progress so far from the other day. Sanded down and primered all the rust spots.

Good start. Looking forward to the progress.

@Davedacarpainter should be able to help you with any questions regarding paint, preparation, etc.

Edit: You should definitely remove trim and mask as suggested by the posts below me.

You plan to remove trim and quarter glass?

I'm not going to say good job because that would just be a lie. If you care enough to be doing body work and a paint job then you should at least care enough to de-trim and mask off parts of the car. You are only making more work for yourself in the end.

I looked through the post so quick I didn't even realize the lack of masking/trim removal. Good catch you guys.

First thing I saw was the overspray. I see wayyyyyyyyyyyy too many foxes where guys think slapping some rattle can primer on is prepping for paint.

Right on.

With the rust removal, you took it down to bare metal and use etch primer?

Please see the "foxbody painting 101" thread. Also before any body work, any sanding, you should always wash the car or the area of work with water and dawn dish soap.

Yes billion, I did. Also I did clean the car down before doing any of this. Also I'm working on the paint job with my dad, he knows how to do this type of stuff. He's done a couple of his own personal vehicles before.
