I need to repaint my tail lights since some of the paint is flaking off. I want to completely remove all the paint that is on them and not just keep piling on the paint. What is a good paint stripper for plastics?

Thanks

Usually paint stripper will hurt plastic. You do not want it to get on the red lens. I'm assuming you have a 94-95 where the lens and bezel it one. The 96-98 lights the bezel comes off with three philips screws.

If you have the 94-95 lights, I would mask off the lens really good, then sand all the flaking stuff smooth. Then give it a good coat of primer or two, and sand it again, paint and clear them. They will look great!!

P.S. Polish your red lenses really good BEFORE you paint, I did a pair years ago, and polished them with my wheel, after, and I burned the edge of the bezels right through to the plastic!!!:bang:
