Painting rear bumper letters and horse on center cap this weekend

Just as title says, I want to paint the rear bumper letters that say "MUSTANG GT" and the horse on my center caps black.

Can anyone tell me the process/supplies I need to go through to do these?

Why not just buy the black bumper letters from mustangworld there like 12 bucks shipped.

I actually debated on getting my "mustang gt" chromed on the bumper

then decided it would look too gheeeeey.

I just used some wide masking tape, taped over the letters, then lightly cut out each letter... I say lightly because you dont want to go into the paint.

Guess you didnt read my post... If it helps I used krylon fusion to paint it after the letters were cut out and everything around it was taped off.

Do I need to prime and/or clearcoat this to paint it?

Also should I sand the area, and what grit sandpaper should I use?

I wouldn't think so, your the photochop king . White or silver (<-toned down) reflective would look great imo.

Mask it off. Use scotchbrite to sand it then wipe it with acetone or mineral spirts. Then paint it.

Simple but do not get overspray on the rest of the car.

i got my letters on ebay for under $6 shipped. eric, if you want ill post pics with and without the black letters. it may be helpful since our cars are the same color.
