It sounds like you need a hardware kit and the drum brakes need to be rebuilt.

The new springs will aid in the shoes returning back when the ebrake handle is released.

Thank you and yea I bought the new drums along with the rebuild kit and new ebrake cables. Do the cables just clip on to the cable up under the car? I'm having trouble finding a video how to but looks like they just clip on the bracket above the my t5 tans.

Thanks. Here is one side after I installed the new kit. I need to replace that old shoe retainer spring with a new one.
