Low braking fluid. Just add some and you should be good to go.

Might as well bleed the brakes while you are at it

Might have a solution

I recently took my 00 Gt 5speed into the ford dealership to have a little maintnance done before I drive it cross country and they told me about a recall with the parking brake assembly. The part # is 1R3Z*2A753*BA You may want to check that out, I have a feeling that could be your problem. Let me know how it goes. Good Luck

If you don't push the parking brake all the way down, the light will go on. There's a switch by the handle (inside) that gets pressed in when the handle is down all the way. There's nothing preventing the handle on moving up on bumps.

I agree with the brake fluid, that has happened to me before.
