i've a really annoying noise in my car and finally found it on the parking break handle. when the recall service was taken care of, the handle was left loose. i can move it side to side about a half inch either way and up about two inches before the e-brake starts to engage. when i am at highway speeds it starts to junp around by itself and make noise. i've already brought it back to the dealer and a second dealer, and both say it is fine. is there any way i can adjust the slack in the cable, or has anyone else had this problem and found a fix?

thanks

I have the same problem except mine doesn't make noise. It is just really loose. I gave the service manager a peice of my mind when they did the recall and then returned it to me like this.

I would NOT give them a second chance. I figure they should have gotten it right on the first try.

I know this happened to a lot of people. I'm sure you could probably fix it yourself with a little ingenuity. I haven't gotten around to fixing mine yet.

Supposedly (as stated in the recall 4 years ago) the parking brake would release on it's own if you park on a hill. So I took it in. The result was now the brake handle almost has to be pulled up completely vertical for the brake to be engaged and now there is a ton of side to side play.
