Parking Brake

I did a search to figure out how the front cable connects to the equalizer rod and where the spring hooks on a 65 mustang and I cant find anything....Looked in my haynes man.(piece of crap)nothing, looked at the exploded view and it looks like the cable is just looped onto the rod and it doesnt show where the spring goes any help or pics would be much appreciated

thank you Az that pic really helps. I guess the front cable just loops in with no retaining clips or anything then Every diagram I found looks like this one
