Parking woes preventing you from driving?

I've put only 1100 km on the stang this season. I honestly thought I'd be driving it a lot more, but everytime I did take it out, parking was always my biggest problem. First off I live in a big city, which most of the times means you have to park several blocks away from your destination. Second, my insurance policy restricts me from using it as a daily driver, so I can't be going to the mall for some shopping (not that I would ever park it there) or anything. Third, I'm just plain paranoid about leaving it in any place where I don't have a clear view of it. This pretty much leaves the sunday afternoon cruise, weather permitting of coarse, which can get pretty boring when you're just plain circling with no real destination. Anyone share this sentiments? Maybe I'd have more fun with an old stocker that I wouldn't care too much about getting stolen.

My thinking exactly...garage queen only because I can't drive it unless the weather is ideal, and I WON'T leave it anywhere I can't see it. Tough price to pay for putting all your effort into something...others just either don't respect it enough, or better yet will make off with it.

Hows the insurance company going to know you just diddnt decide to drive it that particular day? They cant prove you drive it everyday. Stop being a puss cars were meant to be driven.

Im with him ^^ that insurance clause doesnt care where you go as long as you stay under a certain mileage. at least thats how my policy worked. Thats why you have insurance.. in case stuff happens. if you dont think your insurance will cover all your mods and everything, take it to a different ins company that specializes in custom or antique cars. they will actually come out and do an apprasial on your ride... something most other companies wouldnt care about.

And a word about my policy, it is classic car insurance and they don't care about kilometres, as long as you have another car insured as your DD. They just don't want you to park it in certain places. I guess I could lie about where it was parked, but conflicting stories, police reports that don't add up, might just mean I get nothing back. I'm not going to take that chance.

Guess I've been burned by insurance companies before, which would account for my paranoia. I don't know how it works in the U.S but there are not too many insurance companies in Canada willing to insure modified vehicles. I was surpised I found one and so the stipulations on their part are not surprising to me at all. Street racing has been a problem here in recent years so we have to take what we can get and deal with the long court cases later.
