So...where do I get good gaskets? Does any parts store carry them, or are they more of a specialty/aftermarket item?

those bolts should work, but make sure you check them a couple times after they heat up and cool down. they need to where in. re-torque them down a few times and you shouldn't have any problems.

So basically the gaskets are the same dimensions as stock (I'm at work so I can't compare)...I thought maybe tey had larger port sizes or something for the better headers...but I guess that don't really make sense.
Soo, you hade the King CObra clutch and si sucked?
Did it just go bad after a while or what?

my t.o.b. f'd up a second time, and the shop said that they had replaced it from the original. it was a big mess that ended up having me go to another shop and install another clutch because the bozo working at the first place made me feel uncomfortable with having him work on my car.

Ok, I got the passenger side header in. had to move the alternator, and jack the engine a little bit to squeeze it in there. Now the bottom side of the header is all scratched up too. I tried the bubble wrap trick, but it just wasn't happening, oh well..I will never see it, so out of sight, out of mind I guess.
I managed to get the front bolt in, but I couldn't get any other bolts in. In order for the holes to line up with the boltholes on the engine, the exit flange of the header hits the floorboards of the car. At first I was worried that they sent me the wrong headers or something (even though the box and invoice were correct), but then I realized that since there is no tranny on, the engine has tipped a bit foreward. So I think I will get the driver's side header in place and install just one bolt too, then reinstall the clutch and tranny, so I will be able to install the header gaskets and bolts when the engine is at the correct angle.

What exactly is so bad about the BBK gaskets? I know they seem flimsier than the stock ones (there is no metal in BBK's that I can tell, whereas the stock ones seem like they are two layers of gasket material sandwiching a thin peice of sheetmetal). So what does having a flimsy gasket mean for me? Could the gasket blow out?
Since I won't be installing the gaskets until after I have the tranny back in and buttoned up, I will have time to order some gaskets if I really need to.
One more thing... The BBK gaskets have a slightly larger hole for the port than the stockers do. If I get a fel-pro or Mr. Gasket or something, will it have the larger BBK-style hole, or the smaller stock hole?

Also, I picked up some Bosch platinum 2 plugs. Are they any good? they were $3.99 a pop, so I figured they'd be better than the stock ones. But they have a weird electrode...actually there is 2 electrodes instead of just one. I guess I don't have t gap these plugs?

Even better, if you get the far right, and far left bolt part way in, the Felpros just drop in instead of having to try and line the gasket up with the bolt holes.
Sorry the bubble wrap thing didn't work for you. Worked great for me, but someone told me about it before I took it off. Looks like things are going good for you. The passenger one was the hardest for me, so keep us posted.
