pass emisions with 2 cats on?

My friend wants to take 2 cats off his factory h pipe and leave 2 cats on his 98 gt.He wants to know if he will pass emissions with just 2 cats on?
Also by taking 2 cats off and leaving 2 cats on will his exhaust be louder then before? Will the sound be noticeable?

just get another midpipe..and when it's time for emissions just swap with the stock one

LOL o my god don't waste your time. Tell your friend to go buy a off road h pipe.

You will not pass emissions and it would be a little louder. i don't know if it would be much of a difference. You would free up just a little hp too.

If you are in VA like me or state that requires dyno emmision, you will fail. I had to put back my stock mid pipe to pass. But I heard that some peeps pass with it so it's really 50/50. Just make sure he saves the stock pipe.

I have the bassani X (w/ cats) and the sound is noticable. The exhaust tone is great with less restriction.

His exhaust will be louder by taking 2 cats off (loud enough to notice)but he won't pass emissions correct?
