I've got a 2001 GT Convertible and the aft corner of the passenger window is hitting the ragtop and I can only close the door properly by lowering the window a quarter inch. It seems the aft end is going up too high.

I'm very handy and wonder if this is something I can adjust inside the door?

My 2000 does this too, but on the drivers side. I am not the original owner, but it's
done this since I have owned it. I wouldn't even say I have to have it down 1/4"
but even 1/8" works.

Window Stops

I recently did some work on the driver's window of my 98 Coupe with power windows and I'll bet your is the same.

If you take apart the door, you'll find two "window stops" that determine just how far the window can go up. It's basically just a 12mm bolt than you can adjust with a socket. On mine, these were adjustable and had about an inch of room to adjust how far up the window would go.

You MAY be able to adjust that on your car to resolve this. I'd suggest checking the haynes manual first under anything window or power door related to see if it mentions the window stops.

The key to remember is that it's sort of a big project because to get the adjustments, you'll have to take the skin, plus plastic lining off. It's important to be careful taking the lining off because you'll need to put it back on. Let me know if you decide to do this and I'll write up my experience in detail.

Take it easy.

I have a 94 Convertible and I am having the same problem, except the aft end is to low, and causing about a 1 inch gap between the seal and the window which is of course leaking in rain. When I took the door panel off and looked, it appears that the 94 models window stops are non-adjustable, and I was wondering if anyone else has any experience or knows something I can do to bring the end of the window up about an inch.

Thank you
