Hey everybody. I have a 2007 Shebly GT on order and had a general question I'd like some feedback on. Stangnet has been by source on numerous occasions for great information regarding my 2001 GT, so I'm hoping for the same in '07.

Anyway, to my question: Does anyone know anyone or have any information on the realiability of the car with a Paxton S/Cer installed?

I currently own an '01 GT, so my knowledge of the '05+ cars is limited. When the 01's came out, due to a bump in compression that few knew about, engines were grenading left and right when S/Cers were installed on them. While I've heard of no such issues with the '05+ GT's - does anyone have any experience with Paxton and/or similar type blowers as far as relability is concerned?

My SGT will be my daily driver, but I either work from home or travel for work (fly) so I'll be putting less than 6k miles/year on the car. I certainly won't be abusing the car, but I don't want to worry about the realiability of it either with the S/Cer installed (ie. engine, transmission, drive train, etc.). Any feedback is appreciated.

As long as you don't go over about 450+rwhp/tq you'll be fine. The connecting rods in our cars are pretty weak and if you go over 450-500 at the wheels you risk throwing a rod through your block.

Just get a good tune and you'll be golden with a supercharger. Oh, and throw some Long Tubes on the car too...there are ZERO clearance issues with how the new design is :)

Edit: I'd like to say that at 450-500 you'll risk throwing a rod through the block but there are quite a few cases where people are running 600+ to the wheels on the stock block with no issues. They have an absolutely amazing tune though and it's not the norm either.

Stay below 500 rwhp (475 is as high as I'd go) and make sure you have good fuel, timing in the mid teens, and a strong reliable fuel supply system and you should be fine.

Oh, and don't forget common sense..... you can have the best setup in the world but dumping the clutch at 6000 rpm still wouldn't be a good idea.

I like the Whipple if your going S/C. They seem to be making a lot of power.
I'm making 480RWHP and my buddy is making the same on his. He's put 12k miles on his and I've put about 6k . Absolutly no issues yet. But then again were running Turbos.
