Hi all, I wonder if someone could advise, as I’ve recently had the cars battery off I’d like to ask whether there’s some procedure for the PCM to relearn it’s settings before I take to the road again, thanks in advance.

Unhook the ground cable and lay something in between the ground cable and ground terminal to be sure they can not touch. Run a small jumper wire between the hot and ground wires with hot wire still connected to positive terminal. Go smoke a cigarette ,drink a cup of coffee, hell, make a bag of popcorn. Just give it 5 or ten minutes. It will drain all the juice from your pcm allowing you to reset it. After you're all hooked up again, fire her up. Let her idle till normal running temps. I let it go another ten minutes or so after that. Maybe not necessary, but I want to make sure it's right. After that kick on the ac and all electronics including headlights. Let her run for another 10 min Or so. Then hop in and drive. I go for a good cruse. Some city, some highway. I noticed a difference after simple work on my 99 3.8. Maybe it do t help at all? But it's easy and I do t mind doing it incase it is doing me good. Good luck
