PCM Question

I'm wondering if it's possible to update a 98 GT with the PCM from a newer model stang. If it is possible, how much work would be involved and would i be able to use the programmers that only work on the 99+ stangs? Thanks in advance for any help ya'll can give me.

it wouldnt work because the newer PCMS are looking for 8 coils not 4 like you have. before someone chimes in, the coil packs are 2 coils in each, they employ a waste spark type system.

so i'd basically have to change out everything electronicly controlled on the car.... that bites

unless you swap to a 99+ engine, you should stick with the stock computer.

well you wouldnt have to swap out everything, you would just need a newer style wiring harness with the connectsion for the 8 coil you will need
