Combustion gasses that blow by the piston and rings and the oil the pick up are what the positive crakcase ventilation system (PCV, often made of PVC or ABS) ventilates. The pcv and the cam are unrelated things, one does not eliminate the need for the other and neither will be the cause of 'blowby'
Not having a PCV system will cause blowby,
If you are going to be working on your stang stick with us, we can help you do it right without all the bs the interwebs can provide.
Well, there is some bs here but it's all in fun.
Just noticed this is plugged too, any idea what this is?They are usually plugged with a pipe plug that uses an allen head
That’s the vacuum distribution tee (or tree). The one that’s capped off is normal.Just noticed this is plugged too, any idea what this is?
No none of those things I was just doing a tune up on the car and went to replace the Pcv valve, grommet, and filter and noticed it was deleted in some placesunless you have a power adder, and even then you can normally still run a PCV. The reason people remove them is they get excessive blowby. which is normally caused be crankcase pressure under boost. It also happens if your PCV valve/system is clogged up. Not running it leads to all sorts of nasty things like excessive oil in the intake and burning oil, poor driveability. Make sure the screen and rubber piece are intact in the lower intake, get a good PCV and hook up the hose to the upper intake port as Mike showed. Also, do not run an open breather element as you will draw in unmetered air .
Are you blowing out the diptstick, seeing blue smoke or smell oil burning?
