PCV keeps popping out!!

Why? I don't know and really don't care. I wanted to ask you all how I can fix it? I got the scare of my life a little while ago. I saw tons and tons of white/bluish smoke coming from my exhaust. I thought it was my rings or something with my oil, but when I saw my pcv out and my firewall covered in oil, I knew that was the problem. How can I fix it? Oh, and now that I remember it's popped out about 3 or 4 times before.

Glue it? sorry, don't really know, make sure your pcv hose is connected and your crankcase is getting ventilated properly. Maybe if it's not it's causing it to blow the pcv out of the plenum. Not real sure though, sorry.

LOL, thanks man. I really don't know what could be causing this. It really really sucks. I thought I had seen some sort of "bypass" made for the pcv but not really sure. I hope someone chimes in on this.

look for clogged screen below the PCV valve (i think you guys have them - foxes do). also, do you run an aftermarket valve in a stock grommet? some folks have problems with the two not fitting right and the valve popping out (solution is to run motorcraft valve and grommet).

some folks in here like to wrap the valve in tape or silicone it in - i would not do that. to each his/her own.

do make sure you dont have excessive crankcase pressure - you will start blowing oil out seals if you do.

Ok, one at a time. I'll check to see if the screen is clogged. The grommet is stock and so is the intake. Why wouldn't you add silicone? And how can I check for excessive crankcase pressure?

all the other reasons stated above ruled out, you may have excessive crankcase pressure caused my excessive wear to your pistons/rings/bores.

i would not because the parts should all fit properly w/o it. if not, there is a different issue which should be addressed, IMHO.

to determine blowby, a leak down test works well.

put a breather on the valve conver and silcone that thing in there - you wont have problems with it anymore.... but you will need to find out where that pressure is coming from.

Helper I'm thinking of getting this kit from a guy over at corral. What do you all think? Well, the good news is that I got on it and it didn't pop out anymore after replacing it, but my oil dipstick does. Also, it still keeps smoking. WIll this kit help?

You can make one of those on your own using a filter from autozone and some extra vac hose... It wont cost you 40+ bucks eihther. I dont know if that will help your current situation though, although I dont think it would hurt.

So, you connect that to the PCV and the hose connects into the filter,right? Doesn't seem too bad. What exactly did you need? Can you help me out with that? I'll head out to AZ as soon as I get your reply.

What about the tree that the pcv has. I only have one vaccum going into the pcv. The far one on the right side of the intake is open. If that's the case, why had it not done it before?

Thats right. I had some (3/8"?) vacum line lying around and connected one end to the pcv, then to the filter. It is actually a glass fuel filter, but it works. Then connected the other end to where the pcv connects to the intake. Theres an article somewhere on stangnet that I read on how to do this...
That "F" tree on the pcv isnt needed on our cars. we only have one vacum line coming out of the pcv valve.

The only cause I know of, is blowby. The only cure? Rebuild...

That's true...

What are you going to do to your dipstick? Duck tape it down?

Putting a breather on the valve cover in place of the factory cap will help a little, like someone else said...
