I put my P heads on and the 1.6 scorpion roller rockers. Got everything tightened down and all and went back through and checked my clearances and such. Basically gave it the once over. I noticed that with my rockers torqued down I can spin the pushrods between my fingers. Doesn't seem right to me. I reused the stock pushrods. Do I need longer pushrods or is this normal.

Thanks

The stock pushrods should be fine, On Pedalstel mount rockers all you need to do is tighten them down tight & go, You really don't have to worry about all the stuff like you do with stud mount rockers, Your rockers are just bolt on & go!

Um you really do need to check length & check to see if you need shims just like if you were using stud. I think pedestal are more of a PITA to set up.

The pushrods are spinning now after they are tq'd b/c they bled down.

My understanding form the crane website was to properly adjust is this. Tighten down the till you can just turn the pushrod with some resistance than give 3/4 to 1 full turn for proper adjustment for hydraulic lifters. Thats what they say on there site.

That is for a stud mount rocker, pedestal requires a longer pushrod and/or shims under the rocker. Jason

Ya there is a pain staking procedure installing rockers, pedastal are harder than stud actually as pedestal it's 1/4-1 full turn from zero lash to reach 19lbs torque & you have to do every cylinder one @ a time rotating the crank each lifter on base circle on every cylinder, torqueing em down & there still loose you either got rocker seats installed upside down, too many shims not @ base circle or you need longer pushrods.

Easiest way IMO is to get two packs of shims & an adjustable pushrod length checker & a whole afternoon. Then order the pushrods you need.

Just as a tip , if you mark the valve stems & check the contact patch first, you'll have a base line to work from. Close to the intake side too short of a pushrod... close to the exhuast side of the stem too long...

Best of Luck

Actually it's 18-20 "not 24" tightening to 24 is not only too tight but it could cause to much preload.
