You didnt say what cam, pistons, or heads you have.

Pedestal heads do not have to have cutouts for the pedestal base to locate in. That is what the stamped steel channels are for that come on stock E7s and are reused on aftermarket heads like my Edelbrocks. And what are "true rollers"?

You shouldnt have any issues assuming the heads and your block havent been milled. Even then you shouldnt, but all "guesses over the internet" are useless. The 1.7s have a small affect on lift and duration.

In comparison, I had to clearance my pistons for the Edelbrocks and my 2031. I chose the cam when I thought I was going to use GT-40 irons.

As for clearing the valvecovers, what rockers exactlt do you have? Mine are like what came on the pushrod '93+ Cobras. They say Crane, but also have a Ford logo and part # cast in. If thats what you have, then a modified or home-made valvecover oil baffle will clear. Dont tell anyone, but I used a piece of soupcan.
