people w/side exhaust?

I have functional side exhaust on my '68 fastback. It is flowing out of a 351W with Hedmans into Magnaflows (I know, I know, I wanted Flowmaster Stage IIs) and it sounds pretty good I think. Clearance for the exhaust really isn't an issue because I have a high capacity Milodon oil pan anyway, so the exhaust setup does not sit any lower than that.

As far as HP gains go, I couldn't say, because this is the way I had the car setup initially, so I don't have anything to compare it to.

Good luck!

thanx i wasnt sure about it since i just liked the look of it. i already lowered the car and added a canton oil pan so jaja

I have 3" exhaust,, Dr. gas X pipe, side exhaust on a 65 with sub frame connectors. you need to collapse the pipe slightly at the connectors but I do have enough clearance.

is it good? b/c i wasnt sure to get it or not

can you please post pics
i appreciate it

Here is a very nice installation of a very performance oriented exhaust on a 65 gt350 clone with a stoker 347 and a blower. The floorpans were modyfied to let teh mufflers sit up under the car a little further so he didn't have to use those u-turn mufflers.

AS you can see the biggest problem with the side exits is it becomes problematic to use them for any real high performance application that requires large free flowing exhaust and sub frame connectors....you can get away without subframes with the installation of a 6 point cage since it ties all the same areas together, but most people on the street don't want to do that to their interior.

I wanted side exhaust on my fastback, but was told because of my tcp sub frames and more of a problem the X cage, it was a no go. Anyone know of somebody running that set up???

"The Dr Gas kit uses Spintech mufflers with mandrel bent tubing.. The tubing is flattened to go under subframe connectors"

is that what the problem is? subframe connectors would be in the way?or vice versa
