Just wanted to see what kind of speed vrs. rpm your getting in 5th?

Example: 80mph = ____ rpm
70mph = ____ rpm
60mph = ____ rpm

Also, I think that this will be more accurate if your car is a 5 spd & has 17" wheels.

The reason I'm asking... With the complete lack of traction that I am experiencing, not to mention the fuel consumption anytime I get near an interstate, I'm starting to doubt wheather or not I actually have 3.73's.

Thanks...

i ahve 3.73s and 17s...
3rd tops out at 78 as i pass through teh 1/8
4th gear tops out at bout 95 as i pass through the 1/4

5th gear
65 is 2000
70 is pushin 2200
80 is bout 2500
90 is lil under 3k
Man that's quite a difference, I only pull 1600 at 65 with 3.08's...........

All you gotta do is jack the rear of the car up, and have someone rotate the wheels 1 complete turn and count how many times the driveshaft turns. For example, if the DS turns 3 and a half (3.5) turns, then it has 3.55's. If it turns 3 and a quarter (3.75)turns, its has 3.73's. If it goes slightly past 4 turns, it has 4.10's. Hope this helps.

And BTW, which tranny gear is the one to use with my 3.73's? Someone above mentioned it. I know my speedo is off.

Thanks CobraWannabe, & everyone else too! That's exactly what I'm gona do this morning when I get to my shop. That way there will be no question what so ever.

I think with stock size tire diameter and 3.73's its like exactly 30mph for every 1000 rpm. that means at 2000 rpm you are going 60mph and 3000 rpm is 90 mph and so on. test it out and you will see its very close and if its off at all its because your speedo is off. Go to a gear/rpm calculator and check it out! good luck and dont fear the gear!

^ but look those acura motor are ment to be wound up like taht ... my buddies beater prelude runs at bout 3500 rpms at 70 in fifth...
Yep, that's why I think american muscle is great, what we can do in like 3rd gear is what rice is capable in 1st :D
It's nice to be able to cruise at around 2k or less on the interstate instead of "screaming" along at 3500 or so rpm.
