Just wanted to see what kind of speed vrs. rpm your getting in 5th?

Example: 80mph = ____ rpm
70mph = ____ rpm
60mph = ____ rpm

Also, I think that this will be more accurate if your car is a 5 spd & has 17" wheels.

The reason I'm asking... With the complete lack of traction that I am experiencing, not to mention the fuel consumption anytime I get near an interstate, I'm starting to doubt wheather or not I actually have 3.73's.

Thanks...

That's where I'm at with 245/50/16s, 60mph@ 2000rpm. My speedo seems to be off 11-12mph, so I think I'm going 70mph @ 2350rpms.

All you gotta do is jack the rear of the car up, and have someone rotate the wheels 1 complete turn and count how many times the driveshaft turns. For example, if the DS turns 3 and a half (3.5) turns, then it has 3.55's. If it turns 3 and a quarter (3.75)turns, its has 3.73's. If it goes slightly past 4 turns, it has 4.10's. Hope this helps.

And BTW, which tranny gear is the one to use with my 3.73's? Someone above mentioned it. I know my speedo is off.

Don't fear the gear! My 3.73's with 225/60-15's turn less rpm at 70 or 80 mph than my wifes stock Acura TL, just some food for thought. In all honesty I wish 3.90s were available when I got my 3.73s I went with them for my daily driver.

I think with stock size tire diameter and 3.73's its like exactly 30mph for every 1000 rpm. that means at 2000 rpm you are going 60mph and 3000 rpm is 90 mph and so on. test it out and you will see its very close and if its off at all its because your speedo is off. Go to a gear/rpm calculator and check it out! good luck and dont fear the gear!

Yep, that's why I think american muscle is great, what we can do in like 3rd gear is what rice is capable in 1st
It's nice to be able to cruise at around 2k or less on the interstate instead of "screaming" along at 3500 or so rpm.
