ok so i've been reading up a lot about different gear settings...someone please explain to me what would be the best setup for a 96 mustang gt. Currently the car is running stock gears and is driven almost daily through city and highway traffic...wat are the pros and cons of 4.10s and 3.73s and 3.9s and any other number gear i have heard talked about?
Very true. Also, 4.10's with a NPI engine will "wind out" too quick since they redline at 4500 rpm's. The 3.55's worked well with the NPI engine since they have decent low-end torque. However, now with the new PI cams some 3.73's would have been nice since the powerband is at higher rpm's. If you do a lot of highway driving (like me) go with 3.73's. You will also be able to "race from a roll", something the 4.10 guys can't do but what everyone does anyways. A lot of guys like the 4.10's though.

nah i want to keep it streetable
