performer rpm 2 intake ?

does anyone run this intake yet? The numbers I saw in 5.0 mustang were pretty impressive. I would like to know how it does as far as low end power. I drive my car on the street a good bit of the time. Maybe someone could tell me if it would work good with my set up. It will be replacing a cobra intake.

Depends on the rpm you want to turn. It is a higher rpm intake. I did have plenty of low end with the II i ran. This was compared to a highly modified tfs street(cut and shortened runners in the upper, ported lower), and the standard rpm. If you're not going to be turning it past 6500, i wouldn't bother with the II.

IMO, the cobra would suffice with that combo...little better would be the tfs street. Then if wanting some more power, look into a performer.

I agree. Unless your spinning it past the 6250 rev limiter I wouldn't use an RPM II.. I'd keep the cobra you have or go with the Performer or regular RPM depending on your cam and power range. The Performer is a 6000 rpm intake, the RPM is a 6500 rpm intake and the RPM II is a 7000 rpm intake per Edelbrock.. Although the II is a great design IMO it's out of the range for most people especially considering alot of people still have the factory 6250 rev limiter. I never ran that car. It was a 4cyl conversion i did...after about a month of finishing it i got rid of it. I had another motor built pretty much identical that i had in the blue coupe(one reason i sold the white car...didn't need two highly modded cars,lol). I ran 11.65 @117mph in the blue car with no tach. It broke during my burnout...spun out of the hole and bogged badly on the 2,3,4 shift. Really should have gone low 11's. But i sold that motor also about 2 months ago to go a little quicker. ;)
 
I looked at the graph on the AFM website and both the intakes are pretty closely matched in the lower rpm rang. My motor has almost 170k miles on it and it can't be too much farther down the road before I need a new bottom end. My thinking was buy a intake that will keep up with whatever I do next. I am thinking about a either a 331 or a supercharged 306.
 
Well again it depends what your going to do.. If you are going to build a 6-6200 rpm motor like most people do then I would stick with the RPM. IF your going to go solid roller or use a high rev hydrolic roller and the supporting valve train and spin it to 6600+ then I would consider the Rpm II. But with out of the box afr 165's and decent cam I would think the RPM would be all you ever need.
