PERFORMER RPM nitrous questions...

well, what the hell I got a good deal and I'm buying it tomorow.

the whole kit...

Bad news its only 120-250shot.... I'm a mostly stock car with alot of miles 148K

is there anyway to tame this ? maybe run a conservative 75?

I couldnt pass up and I'll get all the support hardware.. bigger injectors, a tune etc...

now what gauges would you reccomend?

I got room for 4..

what about some nice Purge kits? I want the safest thing possible... Money is not a object when it comes to saving my engine...

Call Edelbrock and see what is different. The bottle stuff, lines, and solenoid should be the same. Otherwise sell it and get the one you want. If the deal was good enough, at least you have a spare bottle. I sort of did this, just to get the bottle, and it worked out fine.

I put the 100 shot on, no problem, going bigger as soon as track season reopens in Jan.

hm, after christmas I'm calling edelbrock....

I need ideas for what gauges I should get... Wondering if I should get a purge?

all the extras, I want to know whats out there... was lookin at 30lb injectors and I'm not sure what size fuel pump... also a custom tuner

i'd say get a purge valve, msd rpm window switch, bottle warmer, and a remote valve opener.

as for the injectors. you could use 24#'s for a 75hp kit i'd assume. and you can use a fuel pump booster ass opposed to a new fuel pump.

As far as gauges, get yourself a good nitrous pressure gauge and a fuel pressure gauge. you want to have a eye on both of these at all times. You will want a msd window switch, a bottle warmer from any company, and a purge kit from any company. You can use the stock 19 lbs inj for 75 or 125 shot in most cases. But 24s will be more then enough. Get a 255lph fuel pump. I sprayed my zex 100 dry shot on 7 cylinders for half a bottle and my motor still runs like a champ. Its got 115k on it and doesnt burn any oil.

Forgot to mention to get an adjustble fuel pressure regulator so you can adjust your fuel pressure.

For 150 shot, 24 lbs inj will be fine, and you need a 255 intank pump which will be perfect. Then spray away and only hit it when you are going striaght. :spot:

You can get different sized jets for the nitrous. They run $5. As far as converting to EFI get the specicic part numbers for each part and check out Ebay. That's how I converted my Sniper kit to an EFI kit.

Hope it helps

For the money IMO I would get an EFI kit. You are going to nickel and dime yourself buying the parts you need to convert a carb kit to an EFI one. Just of the top my head you will need a fuel pressure Hobbs switch, a vacuum operated fuel pressure regulator for a dry kit and vacuum hose and nitrous nozzle. You will need jets also. 47 NOS and 53 bypass will yield 100 hp. Your stock fuel pressure regulator will handle this just fine. Ford ECC tune towards the rich side and an adjustable will cause you to run rich anyway unless on the bottle. In my expirience with adjustable fuel pressure regulators on close to stock motors, I have picked up more power LOWERING the fuel pressure.

Yes thats how you make the efi dry kit but are they talking about keeping it a wet kit?You would just need a single soft plum fogger nozzle and put it directly befor the throttle body.
Find out what the jets are for a 125hp shot on a 8 cyclinder fogger and multiply thous jets by 8 and thou are the jet you'll need.
*BE WARNED* I DON'T LIKE THE IDEA OF HAVING FUEL IN THE UPPER MANIFOLD, CAN CAUSE PUDILING.
.

Basic carb nitrous kits "T" in the fuel system after the fuel pump (mechanical mostly) before the carb. Low pressure carb fuel systems at round 6 psi at the carb. A 5.0's fuel system has a base pressure around 39 psi and dry nitrous systems spike to 80 psi with the nitrous systems fuel pressure bypass so that a big difference in a carb and EFI system. The soleniod mount for the carb is usless for an efi system. I have seen bad things happen with "wet" nitrous systems on EFI cars. Fuel puddling and such. EFI intakes are designed to flow air and not fuel.

For that price, I would consider just keeping it, or at least keeping the extra bottle. I acutally bought the spare bottle, used and filled for $125 from Compucar at a FFW. Well worth it, as I can keep one full, or, if I make several runs and wnnt to lean on it, I have a spare bottle. And there is a shop that the owner comes to the track on testntune to fill bottles. Works great.
