I haven't used a manifold set in years. I use the Arctic Chill tall can and use the supplied hose with gauge on it. Get it to the top of the blue mark with the car running and AC on. Never has let me down.

At work I use the normal AC machine...the new R1234yf thats in everything new is a PITA...and flammable. R134 doesn't get as cold as R12...and R1234yf cuts out at highway speeds under some conditions causing customers to panic. Nowhere near as cold as R134.

And flammable? I remember not that ago people in the old Mustang community used to point to how people in Mexico would use propane in their AC systems. Of course, the first argument was that it was flammable.

Yup...it catches fire but the flash point is higher than propane. Takes some heat but it will flare up.

Could my car not be cooling because of contamination from previous oil residue...or R12. Cleaned fairly well but? I am going to tear this system down again. Will an auto ac company possibly flush and fill.........one local guy said he would not touch it because of contamination

The wouldn't want to contaminate the AC machine with r12.

I've never used one of the compressors that you installed. On a stock compressor you would suck the old r12 out and drain the compressor...the refill it with esther oil to change to r134. Years ago I just let the freon out of the compressor on my car ( don't tell nobody ) and changed the fittings. Charged it with r134 and esther oil. Everyone said it would kill the compressor....well here we are 15 years later and my compressor still works. Did change the clutch once. Charged it more times than I can remember with all the motor swaps and the several cars its been on.

Personally, I'd ditch the manifold gauge set and get a can of freon and the hose with gauge. Hook it up to the low side. Start the car and cut the ac on. Check that gauge and see what it says. If its in the yellow or red you have too much freon in there....if its in the blue it has the correct charge....if its in the green it needs more.

Most folks won't want to but it on their machine or use their vacuum pump on it. If the levels are right and you don't get cold air with the compressor on then there is a problem with the blend door or control knob.

After having my belt start to fall apart I had to put on some under drive pulleys on that I had laying around. I could not find a belt to fit after going to three different auto parts stores. I have yet to take it for a drive yet. Finally my belt fits right. My new ac set up does not work because I think its contaminated .So I am going to buy a new condensor that did not come with the kit, and re clean everything. Very upsetting, but the car does run nice.

Alternator Bracket...........Ready to do one of these. I had the belt fitting nice. Then the thing stretched and is touching. I have fought this problem for three years. Unreal what a half an inch does on these things. Putting this on Saturday morning. I was trying to avoid this because I like the stock look and now I have a pile of stock crap in bags that you need to save. This is a nice piece . Very smooth and nicely chromed. I will do a step by step.

Those underdrive pulleys work a bit. My car does have a little more pep than it did. Cant wait to get this thing going and putting the top down for a ride in sunny Florida on an eighty degree day.

Do you guys ever wonder how come foxes have so many different size bolts. Some standard , some metric. This bracket has three different sizes. It also has the tricky half inch one that is hidden. I am working on getting rid of the tensioner for the adjustable bar.

Just a quick set of pictures with spacers. No instructions come with this kit. Only one U Tube video on whats up. Just some spacers and bolts go on the water pump bolts. In the video a spacer has to be cut, and mine also needed it. It would totally confuse a person that did not watch the video. The reviews on this thing had several people who sent it back because they could not figure it out. I had to get another belt. I have been through at least six belts on this whole quest. The bar has much less adjustability than I thought.

I always wondered why Ford used imperial size hardware on the engine EXCEPT the throttle bracket hardware which is metric. Seemed odd
