Progress Thread Pete is checking out these valve covers

You have run through the engine codes first. When you are done, blip the gas at least 50% and it will start the CBT by idling up a little.

when done, a 9 (or 90) is a pass. 1 thru 8 is which cylinder has the issue

Always surprised how my car runs different at different days. Last night I was doing my Saturday night cruise to dinner, and a small walk with my wife. The car just seemed old, as usual. Shifting not crisp, noisy rattles, and running a little doggy. This morning I was going to Home Depot, and getting some bakery stuff to bring home. The car is very strong, smooth, and fun to drive. I have noticed this many times before over the last few years. That's the thing this car has a mind of it's own. Just when you think you have had enough it tells you keep me.

I have a brakelight on my dash at times. I thought I could clean the inside up with a good clean , and unstuck the debris. am going to replace the rear quarter window kit{LMR Convertible Kit}, rear brakes, and ES12A in my air conditioner system. And drive shaft differentials all at once in the next two weeks

Tell me how brother. Hole in the back plate???
Yes, you'll need a flat blade screwdriver. Ine direction tightens, the other loosens, so you'll figure out which way rather quickly. Once it's loose enough you should have an easier time getting it off.

I assume you'll be getting the drums resurfaced. It's also a good time to check for leaks at the wheel cylinders.

Yes. If you have the “drum brake tools”..... there’s an end on one of them made especially for that. Or a good size screwdriver will do the trick.
It engages the star in the adjuster so you can turn it.
I am going to do the rears soon. Just checking how bad, or what I need. I have not done these before so I got to get reading. Going to do four or five things at once. Just like you Dub in the next two weeks with pictures

If you’re going to do the rear shoes, pick yourself up a kit like this. It will save you from a lot of busted knuckles and curse words!!

I have those Vise grips , but they are the smaller ones I think the pads were making the drum not come off. Drum was loose just would not come off without setting the adjuster. I didn't want to take it off because I want to drive the car a while until I get my gov check. I know you guys would suggest getting the whole kit at LMR. Springs, cylinders, pads ect. I need quite a few things so I may make a list, because the original owner took it to the garage for everything. If the springs look original I will get the kit

The kits are cheap enough and include everything except cylinders ,check Amazon ( Callahan brake parts)(yes Tommy boy I know). I still have my backing plates and brake cables from when I did cobra brake upgrade in case someone needs them. Post them pics Pete.

I have never used Seafoam in this car that I have owned for four years. With 110,000 miles it is probably got some carbon here and there . I am thinking about maybe half a can or so in the vacuum hose off the tee into the intake. I would do it cold, so less chance of vapor lock. What do you think boys, crazy or a good thing. Nobody ever talks about the caustic Seafoam any more, and you never know.
