PFC vs Ceramic brake pads

Hey guys,

I see that I could use some fresh pads up front. And in that regard, I'd like to hear what you think of the varying pads out there (as I'm reading conflicting info).

This is on the 94. My main concern really is a lack of brake dust and not sounding like I'm driving on backing plates when trying to stop. Otherwise, for the way I drive, pads are pads. In lookin at the parts stores offerings, it seems that the PFC street (non Z) pads could work. I've run those before but it was on a car with hubcaps and I cant remember how much they dusted.

Duralast offers a ceramic pad for pretty cheap. I have never run a 'ceramic' pad (I have no idea what that means - the only ceramic pads I'm familiar with would never work on the street). I'm considerin' trying these but would like to hear someone's experience with them first.

Anyhow, recap: want pads with little dust or noise. Considering ceramic street pads or PFC street pads.

Thanks a bunch for all the replies guys. Of course, I'd like to get some Brembo blanks and nice pads online, but realistically, they're not needed for my driving style. I do think I'll try the 'ceramic' pads from AZ out though. If they worked for Michael, they should work ok for me. I know he has more of a lead foot than I.

Now if this was for the literbike, I have run some nice aftermarket pads and really could feel a difference. In other words, I could take advantage of the pad upgrade. I just dont think the extra cost is warranted here.

If I ever put PBR calipers on and upgrade some stuff, I'll get some better pads.
