well it took me most of the day, only because i had to drive 20 miles to a junk yard to get pi cam bolts out of a cop car between this and the pi intake i have noticed a big difference in power, any one that cannot afford a full pi swap i would really recomend doing this

Why couldn't you use your stock cam bolts?

the ones that cam out of the npi cams were too big which i thought was weird so i went to a junk yard that has pi cop car took them out and they fit perfectly

hmm, that's really odd. Thought they were the same. That actually sucks cuz my VT stage 1 cams are PI cams and i can't seem to find the PI washers and bolts i had - must have sent them with the last set of heads i sold off. Guess NPI sprocket bolts wont work on these either

yeah i was supprised when i found this out i dont know why they would make pi ones smaller

Yeah, for the cam swap you have to buy the pi cam bolts.

I got the new valve cover gaskets and bolts from Randy Stinchcomb

yeah i got new valve cover gaskets too with grommets they were 50$

how did you get the cam gear off? did you have to unbolt the cams like we were talkin about or did you HE man it? lol

our 96-98 cam gears work on the Vt cams.

we un bolted the cam and that made the back of the cam lift up a little bit then we just kind of HE maned it, i was just worried that the tensioners would would tighten up but they didnt

Jim e-mailed me and said that VT cams take 12mm bolts, which is the size of NPI cam bolts. 99+ are 10mm bolts i guess.
Just FYI

yeah im pretty sue that there 12mm the pi one are 10mm
