Intake from a 2003 grand marquis/crown vic...
are these same as the PI inatkes on stangs? same 2V engine?

The horspower/TQ ratings are different... was wondering where the difference comes from. heads and cams maybe?

I'm guessing the intakes are the same but it's only a guess and prefer to be a bit more certain.

Thanks
Al

Yes I'm pretty sure all the ford V8 intake manifolds are the same. At least all the car manifolds are the same - trucks are slightly different. I know on some manifolds there is an extra hole on the drivers side but I think that might be the only difference.

Might want to check this page it shows all applications:
http://www.actionsalvage.com/manifold/1380005.asp

It doesn’t list the 03 Grand Marquis on their site maybe someone else might know for sure....

Thanks

I searched for a pic of each on the net, found some and compared and all the bolt holes seemed to be at the same place so they're probably the same. They probably changed the cams or something to adapt the RPM TQ band to a big livingroom on wheels.

The PI intake on the Vic is the same as the Stang. The part numbers on the cams are different, but oddly enough, when I set all of them on my work bench and measure them with the degree wheel, they are all the same.
Here is an old thread that may help you out:

The Heads, Cams, Intakes are the same for the PI cars, anyone who says differently clearly does not know. The difference between HP/TQ is in the exhaust and the factory computer calibration.

cool

It's true that you can play around a lot with the power by just modifying exhaust and calibration.

My stupid intake is leaking (car is stock) so I'll be doing the swap in the next month or so. I'm only gonna change the intake cuz my long term plan is to get a 4V engine for my 96GT. So stays mostly stock for now, in the meanwhile, I'm still with my stock 96 2V.

Can't wait to really start fixing her up, for now, money is stuck on wedding and upcoming house (also have 2 kids, 1 is 6mths old). After that, I promised my future wife P-surgery and then I have the green light baby!
Long term project will be 4V BB N/A with 550FWHP in sight.

Anyways... that babcox site is awesome!!
