I used quite a bit.....I went around all the ports and then used quite a bit extra on the inside of all the intake ports....that is where the leaks tend to happen.....so just make sure u use a bit extra there....

I just hope I never have to take my intake off again...because I will probably have to break it apart to get it off since I used so much RTV...

not really alot, just use it in the right places. i didnt on my first time and i messed up. i did it correctly the second time and it was all good.

okay, I am in the middle of the install and I don't see where the old niple on the back of the water pump is that you have to punch out. can some one help me with this. Thanks

It is located on the backside of the water pump - on the engine valley side and connects the waterpump to the coolant tube that runs through the V. To get it out, you have to remove the water pump first then hammer it out towards the front of the car. Do you have the replacement nipple? If so, you can match it up and you will see it in there. Word of warning, they are in there pretty good. I used block of wood as a buffer so as not to flute out the tube then use a hammer on the wood to pound it out. Good luck!

i'm talking to u now but i'll post anyway. if you're looks like the one int he pic, dont hammer it out, its a bitch. just get 1/2" L-shaped rubber hose (coolant hose) and 2 hose clamps. hacksaw the coolant tube (the long metal one) right before the last bend towards the nipple and slip the L-hose on and clamp it down. this is much easier and works perfectly.

(2nd clamp isnt tightened in this pic but it should be)

dont need to hammer it out. i tried that and i almost bent the nipple in half. use 1/2" L-shaped coolant tubing and saw the black hose short before the last bend. clamp it up. took much less time that way.

I had to no issues punching mine out. Since I have a 98 you don't need to. I changed mine anyway because the nipple came in the kit. Like what was stated earlier I used a 3 lb mallet with some wood, then with a couple of soft whacks came right out.
